"A nice 4 night stay at the Novotel. Things that were good - room size , cleanliness . The amount of phone repair shops in Reading city centre - 22 !!! Mmm wonder why ??? The could have been better - the need to security check your room key in the lift was not working. There was no security check being done so anyone could have come into the hotel and got to any floor ! The hotel carpark - the spaces are so small, we were a cm off a pillar to get the car in. It is not suitable for modern big cars . We had to try 5 spaces before squeezing the car in. Deffo go for a room at the back of the hotel and high floor due to the street noise ."

"I’ve stayed here 3 times before. The staff are excellent everytime. For some reason everytime I come I get the loudest rooms looking onto walls or roofs, whereas people I’m travelling with get balconies & views onto the courtyard. On this particular stay my room was next to a huge machine that was left on all night. It was incredibly loud & was hard to fall asleep. (To be fair I didn’t mention this to them at the time as it was 11pm & I had an early wake up the next day, so i’m unsure if they could have moved me or not.) On previous stays I’ve woken up at 7.30am to the noise of pickleball being played loudly in the sports hall. This last stay would potentially put me off coming back. It wasn’t a one off so I don’t think I’d want to take the risk again."

"Very poor main light in bedroom...get some brighter bulbs!!! Bathroom lighting poor....no light over the mirror,difficult to wet shave and make-up!!!! As always bath towels too small for average sized person to wrap round at the waist....let's have proper BATH SHEETS next time you but towels....please!!!! Internal phone didn't work had to walk all the way down to reception to ask how the tv remote worked!!!! Get some basic instructions on the room amenities!!!!"
