"Once again a brilliant stay"

"The hotel is great, only a few minutes from the airport. They have an extra early breakfast option if you're off earlier than when they serve breakfast, which is awesome. The room was clean, bed nice and comfy. I'd stay here again, if they do something about their reception staff. Calling to let them know you're waiting for the airport shuttle was fine. After a 25 minute wait, I called again to ask what happened to the shuttle. The female on the other end couldn't understand a simple question...

"Liked the garden, but it needs a little C&A... Disabled car parking near to our room (No.5) was an excellent bonus. Breakfast was excellent but a bit expensive. Staff were all very courtious and helpful. Direct booking rather than via an agency is preferred. We will certainly be recomending the Lion to our friends and relations and using you again next time we are in the area. The only down sude was the loss of my credidit card - was is handed in to you?? Dennis Cole"

"Rooms were clean, everything was nice, but the fact that there was NO ac And NO fans provided instantly, made the experience horrible ."

"Accommodation is fine. Breakfast menu is a selection of fried, unhealthy or coated in butter. Needs to be better to compete with other local providers"

"Great stop over for before a flight. The lady on reception was friendly and helpful. The bar are lacked atmosphere, but most people are only there for one night, pre holiday. The breakfast was OK, no more than expected. What was convenient was the shuttle from the hotel to the airport. Cheaper than Uber or taxi."

"Lovely hosts, caring and attentive. Nothing is a problem. English Breakfast… the best and sets you up until the evening!"

"This pub was a great find, lovely staff, great breakfast, parking easy and free. The history was amazing. The Gaskell tower is a must. We stayed in a heatwave , the room was warmer than expected, and we should have asked for a fan. The only slight problem, not the pubs fault, it is on the direct flight path for Manchester airport, they did stop flying between the hours of 11.30pm-6.00 am!!"

"Close to shops, restaurants, etc. easy to find, plenty of parking, beautiful surroundings, kind and helpful staff, everywhere is clean, food is delicious."

"Lovely old building, good location exceptional breakfast. Parking is a bit of a nightmare after a 10 point turn in the car park had to find parking across the road which was no problem for my little car but you might struggle with a bigger car."
