"Warm welcome and friendly staff, however quite a modest property even for a BnB and at this price point. Small room with very small shower. Fine breakfast but only instant freeze dried coffee, and few options if you don't want a fry up. Immediate area full of litter on streets (like most of Barry). I know this isn't their fault but it's a location point. Overall a fine place to stay but I'm surprised current reviews are quite so high -- afterall, a warm and friendly welcome should be expected...

"The property is in a brilliant location which is ideal for Barry and Barry Island. The staff are great and helpful. The hotel just needs an update. It would be great if the Bistro was available for guests. The price is really good value so the decor is ok."

"At the arrival and going to our room there was only 1 bath towel and 1 hand towel I asked at the reception to have 1of each brought to our room but it did not happened also the bathtub is either very badly stained or just not cleaned properly so we felt that we could not have a shower in it The hotel bar was very good and staff very friendly the breakfast was very nice plenty of everything Thank you we still enjoyed our stay"

"Good location. However when we arrived we were not given the type of room we'd reserved, 3 months ahead of time. The staff did not really care about what we'd booked on expedia after I showed the confirmation, they said it wasn't binding to them. The hotel was full so no other room was available. The room was fine, had a lovely view but we'd booked two beds so they had to bring up a single bed which obviously used up a lot of space. This distracted from our experience of expecting better...

I booked a single room, and was surprised to have a double bed. The bed was very comfortable. The staff was prepared for the heat wave with a fan already placed in the room upon my arrival."

"Room was large, comfortable and had everything you need for an extended stay. Contactless checkin instructions were a bit confusing but in the end I got to my room. The room was modern but could have used a deep clean. Hallways were very noisy due to a family in the neighbouring room (otherwise would probably not have been a problem). Onsite laundry room was not as described in the listing - only one washer/drier and no air dryers on loan and the room was not secured (lock broken). The building...

"Stayed in room 6 beautifully furnished loved colour scheme great view of the pier and the sea from our window. Everything was very clean and the bed comfortable. Great breakfast each morning just a few yards down the road, think it was called Coffi. Parking is a bit of an issue. Would definitely use again. Thank you."

"Check in is at 3 pm and they will not allow early check in, even though I emailed the hotel and they said since we flew in over night that the front desk could accommodate that. Waited hours trying to stay awake in lobby. Never again"

"Room was overpriced for a concert, £400 per night when £220 normally. I’d expect an uplift but not this much. Room was worn, fan and windows dusty and unclean. Other room had no hot water in shower so unable to use. Noisy and limited sleep although bed comfortable No bar as closed. WiFi non existent and no 5G signal so if you want a quiet night and no shower then ideal place. Breakfast mediocre"
