"We enjoyed our one night stay here. Welcoming staff, clean room, bar/restaurant area was very nice. Window with broken off handle and broken tap lever Meant I downgraded my stars. But, I reckon give it a year and maybe it’ll be fabulous, certainly it has the potential to be. The lake view room was nice, there was a good view, but the window was dirty! The room was very 1990s American style, not modern but the bed was very comfy. The outside area needs some attention, but there is a lovely lake, we watched the moorhens and the fish. There is free parking which is great, you’re still close to central Cardiff and the bay. Very close to St Fagans museum which I recommend for a great day out. I would return, it’s quiet and 8 minutes drive from my daughter’s in Cardiff bay so perfect!"

"Well priced, no frills room. Perfect location for visiting Barry Island. The only criticisms I have were no draft beer or ice available in the bar and some toiletries would have been nice in the room. Were advised that food was no longer available at the property which wasn’t an issue for us. On the whole, I’d recommend staying."

"Bit disappointing to be honest. Booked via Expedia specifically for a sauna/pool and then found out despite being listed as a hotel with pool in the filters it's a prebooking required and hefty extra fee..! The lady was lovely and apologetic so no issue there but I wouldn't have paid for this hotel marketed as having a pool, sauna and lovely rooms (the photo on the website of my room does not reflect the room I'm in). Not only that but my room is sandwiched between the lift and further rooms, a corner room. With no natural light overlooking the loud bar that kept me up for HOURS and meant my corporate work event the next day didn't go anywhere near as smoothly as it should have. I booked my coworkers into the IHG down the road and their rooms were much nicer for a cheaper cost. Hopefully my review helps people to look into things a bit more before committing to booking the more luxurious option as it really left me feeling exhausted and underwhelmed. 10/10 team though. The hospitality and service was great and suggests they do look after those who work for them."
