"Oakfold house is convenient located in Bowness on Windermere, a mere 2-min walk to bus-stops going towards the pier or to Grasmere. We had also walked 15 mins to the pier and 15 mins to Windermere town centre.Its proprietors, Chris & Robin are attentive and hospitable hosts who ensure we have a pleasant and memorable stay in Windermere, giving us advice to make our way around. "Cute little place. A busy restaurant is attached and parking is pretty tight. You have to wait until the parking lot opens up at the end of the night to move your car into it. Otherwise some street parking available. We were on the third floor so had to hit the maze of stairs to get to the top but it wasn't too bad. Sits right in town which is really cute. Eateries are open pretty late if you look around."

"We had a lovely stay for our 25th Wedding Anniversary, we upgraded our room to Super Deluxe which was very spacious and had a great view of the lake. A card was left in our room wishing us a happy anniversary which was a nice touch. Perfect location, breakfast was good and staff were exceptional. Our room wasn’t ready until 4 which is what the hotel states as check in time, this is a bit later than most hotels but we enjoyed a drink at the bar while we waited.
