The food took what was already an excellent stay to another level at both breakfast and dinner with amazing food. The two men running things also strike the perfect balance of friendly, attentive and relaxed to make you feel welcome. When I’m next in the area I’ll definitely be staying again."

"We had a most enjoyable first stay at South Sands having had to change our plans at short notice due to an injury which meant that my husband was unable to fly. As we arrived to check-in Jonathan the food and beverages manager gave us the warmest of welcomes, he presides over an excellent team. The menu was extensive and varied using the delicious fresh local fish and seafood to its full advantage, the lobster bisque amongst other dishes is to be highly recommended. "The unique thing about the Halfway House Inn is that it is truly dog friendly, no rip off £15 - 20 a night charge that we got at all the other hotels/pubs we stayed in on our 18 days away. We were made to feel welcome with our dog and not treated like 2nd class citizens"
