"The property is amazing and the staff were polite and very attentive. It’s a negative for me that I couldn’t take my 8 year old in the outdoor pool, but I’m sure if i wasn’t there with a child I’d appreciate a kid-free zone. The indoor pool was pretty filthy, with some wrappers and things floating in the water. The room service food was surprisingly just okay, with watery omelettes, minimalist potatoes for breakfast, a namesake pork sandwich that leaned toward a Cuban but took a left hand toward a crockpot pork. The chefs plate charcuterie was fine except for some form of pate that appeared as if the chef had chewed up some prosciutto , formed it into a rectangle, and pressed two pistachio bits it. I figured it for a nasty kitchen prank on the wealthy snobs paying $35 for a lunch able, so I left it behind. I can’t lie — the whole milk from a local farm that was supplied on each floor’s coffee bar was the best milk I’ve ever tasted in my life. I literally skipped the coffee and drank the milk by the glass, this cannot be overstated as trivial as it seems. "
"Woke up at Anchorage Inn and Resort to the most unreal sunrise 🌅
Stayed in a “traveling with a friend” room — super cute and cozy, but honestly the view stole the show. You can literally watch the sunrise from bed, then run right across to the beach for a cold dip if you’re brave enough ❄️🌊
It’s winter so we didn’t get to use the outdoor pool or check out the upper deck, but it looks like it would be amazing in warmer months.
Staff was really friendly and welcoming. Only odd thing—the pillows were kind of weird, like little bunched-up balls, so not the comfiest sleep.
Fair warning—this is VERY much a family-focused spot. The indoor pool and hot tub area was packed, tons of kids running around, and it felt pretty small. There is a bar right by the pool which is a nice touch, but overall it wasn’t really the vibe for a relaxing girls’ getaway, and we probably wouldn’t return for that kind of trip."
"Clean, comfortable room. Quick, easy check-in. The hotel was quiet and we got a good night's sleep. The location is excellent, right on Rt.1. The included breakfast was good. Overall, it's basic, but a great value. I would definitely stay there again."
"We booked a stay at the Old Orchard Inn and had a mixed experience overall. The check-in process was confusing from the start. We initially walked into the building shown in the listing photos—a beautifully restored colonial—but there was no one there. After a few minutes, a staff member arrived and directed us to a different building on the property for check-in. It was then that we learned our room was located in another building, which was noticeably less charming than the one advertised.
The room itself had a few issues. The ceiling fan was missing a blade and couldn’t be used, and there was no temperature control—our only option was to open a window to let in cold air. The bed was fairly comfortable, but oddly set up with just two king pillows and one small pillow. The decor felt dark and dated, with mismatched furnishings, including an old piano that didn’t work. Please note we did not eat at the Inn so new food review.
On the positive side, the location was convenient, parking was easy and plentiful, it seemed like a safe facility, there was a nice looking (closed for the season ) pool area, and both staff members possibly owners, we interacted with during check-in and check-out were pleasant. It’s also worth noting that our stay was during the off-season, which may have impacted the overall experience.
Overall, while there were some positives, the listing could be clearer about accommodations and the property could benefit from some updates and maintenance.
