"We enjoyed our stay and it is good value for money overall.
Good stuff : Lovely setting. Friendly reception and bar staff. All items on cooked breakfast were actually hot... from self service! highly unusual but much appreciated & real coffee.
Bad stuff : Grumpy unfriendly restaurant staff did not have a smile between them.. They were quite abrupt and unhelpful.
The two main courses we wanted had run out! The bottle of Rose wine was overpriced at £29 for 10.5Abv. I had to ask for a wine cooler... the reply was.. Sorry they have all been stolen!
I asked for an ice bucket to be told they are only for Champagne! What? Unbelievable. The wine was inpleasant.. Wine was poor for the price.
Overall... Room was clean and functional.
Setting is lovely.. Female staff were lovely too. Restaurant staff require training!
We would stay again and hope for an improvement!"
"I have a sever peanut and nut allergy and the staff did an excellent job of making sure I felt safe and reassured from the moment I booked the room. All the staff was absolutely lovely and so helpful!
Location was also very central to all the touristy stuff which made it excellent after a long day because you didn’t have to walk too far."
"From the train station turn left and walk to the gate under the wall. From there go through the black gates of city offices and then turn right up the rise.
There is no ‘back door’ to access the property"
