We stayed at the Apple House for 2 nights and had the best stay. The hosts Daniell & Taquin are very friendly and helpful with everything. The breakfast was freshly prepared and also had fruits and cereal bar as well. We had to order breakfast a day before and our table number was our room number. The rooms had coffee/tea facilities, snacks and toiletries and were replaced everyday. We got takeaway for dinner and were provided with plates and cutlery and allowed to use microwave and eat in dining hall. We just felt we were at our friends place and definitely will return again. Best stay ever.

Apple house is a delightful place to stay while at York. Staff are nice and approachable. Breakfast has a number of choices with good portions. Free parking is the biggest perk staying with them. We don't mind the 10mins walk to the city. Definitely staying here again if we visit York in the future.

This was an ideal venue for me for a four day trip. It was so refreshing to stay in a place with a bit of personality after some of the soul-less uniformity that we are more often offered. The owners are attentive but not intrusive. Lovely breakfast. It is located near the train station, so you can hear trains, but I don't mind this. Well located for buses etc but distances to most things of interest are walkable.
