"Lovely hotel with good facilities"

"Room was diabolical for such a large hotel, dirty cups left behind the curtains, hole in the wall filled with a plastic shopping bag, view from window was like looking onto a run down housing estate, not happy at all, to top it off whilst I was there I got a price to stay the same day and it was £100 cheaper, didn`t even stay for breakfast, couldn`t wait to get out of the place, it only got a 1 star because I couldn`t give it zero"

"Old Victorian hotel that needs some work. We were placed in a small back room that even though was a non smoking room smelt of smoke - so much so all our clothes have gone straight in wash at home. The bathroom had dirt on floors, walls, soap scum mark around sink - didn’t appear clean at all, yet fresh towels etc. Horrible stains noted on side of cabinets, sweets stuck to back of door and carpet, chocolate melted onto desk in room. "This is a Grand Dame of UK hotels and yes it seriously could do with an upgrade and surely that will come - along with a tripling in room rates So yes, it has a bit of a musty feel to it but I put that down to old world charm It’s the people though that make this hotel special and their clear love of this aging queen - service was excellent and their clear morale very high - full marks for trying and also saving this piece of history"

"Great location overlooking the beach. Very close to the open air theatre. About a 20 minute walk to a really good fish & chip shop (the Lifeboat) with eat in area. Staff very friendly and helpful. Hotel was clean and tidy. Body and hair shower gel in the shower and little bottles of shampoo and conditioner and shower gel on side. Breakfast good with enough choice.
