"The property is on the ground floor with about 3 steps to the door itself, check in was a breeze with a lockbox and codes provided for entry into the building. The flat is located 5-7mins from The centre of York and the taxis into the centre are all reasonably priced. The flat was clean and tidy and even had some milk in the fridge for a cuppa to save a walk to the shops. Parking is directly outside the flat with no issues to find a space. Only niggle on a great stay was the doors having a life...

"After Expedia booked us into a 'Standard Room' instead of the room we paid much more for, we queried this with the hotel reception, who only had Expedia's information. They very kindly upgraded free us to an excellent room, for which we are extremely grateful. The room had excellent facilities and a magnificent view. Breakfast was good, although I have had better, but there was plenty of choice, The Fat Badger bar was very nice, although the drinks prices were extortionate, (I heard one customer asking the barman where his mask was). All in all, having stayed in other hotels in Whitby, this would my hotel of choice, mainly due to the friendly and helpful staff and refurbished decor and facilities. Expedia, however have still yet to get back to me, after a disrupted phone call while we were at the hotel, to explain why we paid more to them than they paid the hotel."

I would ask reception staff for dressing gowns to use the pool as no one could figure out how to use the lockers."

"We really liked this room, liked the river view. Didn't like the check in process, it felt impersonal and odd. Without a proper front desk it was strange. We got pretty sick and tired of hearing doors constantly slamming by the last night we were there. They honestly need to find a way to put soft close hinges on these doors because it's brutal. The room was clean, temperature was great, tv was great, beds were mediocre. The pillows are awful so pack your own pillow. My half of the bed was OK but the other half needed replacing. (they put two singles side by side). All and all though, we would stay here again and it's a great location to walk over the bridge and check out all the sights."

The standout feature for us was definitely the sports bar right inside the hotel. It had an amazing atmosphere, plenty of big screens, and great food and drinks, making it the perfect spot to relax and unwind in the evening. Location-wise, it’s spot on. Being right next to the motorway made commuting and traveling around the area effortless, yet the rooms remained nice and quiet for a great night's sleep. Clean, modern, and convenient—we couldn't have asked for more and will definitely be back!"
