"The price is too high and when we arrive the person at the counter did not help us as we need help with our luggage and he was so careless to guide us as we have to figure out everything on our own. When he saw we are Asian race and didn’t even bother to be nice and friendly and at the same time talking so friendly with a white person standing next to me.
There is no microwave and the beds are not queen beds but charged me too much. Same room my friends got 118 on hotels.com. We were cheated with double the price just for few hours. Check in and check out times are horrible for the price. We checked in at 12 midnight and checked out at 9:20 am.
Hardly used the room and it’s not convenient at all. The front desk people are not friendly at all. They are racist people there."
"A great spot to stay in Gettysburg. Walkable to the center of town and short drive to the visitor center and other battlefield points. A decent buffet breakfast with several option which is included. Clean and comfortable."
"There was a good selection of breakfast items. Parking was very close, safe and free. The room was enormous, the bed very comfortable and the bathroom was spotless. We had a wonderful stay and wished it could have been longer."
The Yorktowne Hotel, Tapestry Collection by Hilton
10/10 Excellent
"The Yortowne Hotel is absolutely gorgeous. It also sits in the heart of the city. This spot has an abundance of restaurants as well as historic signage in various spots. A real gem of a restaurant is The White Rose offering great seafood choices. The staff at the restaurant and hotel are top notch with a customer friendly attitude. "
"If you'd like to stay next to a highway with a steady stream of big rigs going by from early in the morning until late at night, all using their air brakes to slow down for the roundabout, this is the place for you. Don't think about peace and quiet, there isn't any. This is an ancient building located in the center of traffic. It was a mistake to stay there. We don't recommend it for any reason unless you don't need sleep.
Now, the antique nature of the building is "cute" but not practical. The "continental breakfast" was an afterthought by the management. Nothing hot, just a muffin, yogurt, and coffee. We drove to Hanover to get breakfast.
Now, as to the bathroom. This is its own disaster. Imagine a claw foot tub that belongs in a museum and you have it. It's huge, has an extremely slick finish and is not safe if you try to climb in and expect NOT to slip and fall. It may look pretty, but it's not safe. The shower is another experience. The walls have no shelves... nothing. You need to leave the shampoo and soap outside or put it on the floor... your choice.
The bathroom sink is huge, but there is no countertop space around it. What a joke! It's all for looks, not functionality, same as the shower.
Getting hot water is another challenge, run the water in the sink for at least 5 minutes to get it warmed up. Then, if you come back an hour later, you'll need to repeat that drill. The hot water in the shower takes another 5 minutes or longer. What a joke!"
