Not a luxury experience at all having to pay a resort fee seemed totally unnecessary I’d say considering. Won’t be giving this property another try which is a same as it’s a very historic Portland location but under new ownership and has lost all of its magic. "

"I only stayed at this property one night while passing through Portland, but all of my interactions with staff were top-notch (everyone was so kind and helpful!), and my room was nice and well-appointed. The bed and bedding were very comfortable, and I didn’t hear any street noise at all from the 4th floor."

"There is an upcharge for everything with this hotel. It is a nice hotel, but nothing is included, and these charges are not transparent in the descriptions about the hotel. You only find out when you arrive."

"Very enjoyable stay at the Benson. Staff was super friendly, and the room was comfortable, well appointed, and clean. My only "negative" is that the disabled friendly (no steps) entrance was almost always locked from the outside, even during the day. This was a minor inconvenience for me, as I am mostly mobile, but would have been a major one were I in a wheelchair. Otherwise, it is a fabulous hotel and I would absolutely stay again!"

"Welcoming staff and nice location. But the property is very old and the rooms have a very upcycled, refurbished vibe. For a pricey hotel, I would have expected a bit nicer. Location is pretty, cool boardwalk with shops. But the noise from traffic, boats, and trains begins around 6 am and is impossible to sleep through. Valet only parking is also kind of cumbersome. Overall a decent stay. "

"Better than I could have imagined! Just a lovely spacious suite like apartments. I loved the local charm and that it was literally right next to the light rail. Yes, you could hear the train, but it was not that noisy and actually quite quaint. I love sitting out outside and drinking coffee watching the light rail train go by every 10 to 15 minutes in the morning. It made my stay so delightful to be able to just leave my car at the hotel and take light rail to Powells bookstore. Despite...

"Hyatt house was overall a good experience. There was definitely some pros and cons to choosing this hotel. Some Pros are that they have free breakfast, indoor heated pool, near waterfront and have clean rooms. Some cons are that there’s no on site parking and rely on street meter parking that you pay hourly OR paying valet, and in addition they told us bar hours and when we went the bar was open and would close early. "

"Liked that there wasn’t carpet in the room, felt more sanitary. Will say there was a teeth whitening strips case stuck to the counter which made me feel like maybe not thoroughly cleaned and then chair had a screw or something pop out that stabbed my boyfriend in the butt when he sat. Staff was lovely though and great location. Food at the restaurant was surprisingly good as well!"
