"The hotel is actually old and tired compared to the photos online. The staff was nice enough and the airport shuttle was actually pretty good. We didn’t have a car because we were getting back from a cruise. so we were told of a couple restaurants in the area to walk to and the convenience store nearby . we came across several homeless people and never threatened directly but a very uncomfortable feeling just walking around. Actually quite sad to see people in that situation."

"Breakfast setup was unorganized. There was no real place set up to sit inside. We ended up taking food back to our room but later saw a place to sit outside. The room sink took a few minutes to drain.
The room was clean and had impressive cove mouldings. Manager was helpful during check in."

"We only stayed one night and had an early flight, so admittedly limited exposure to the hotel. Hotel itself had a very strong, permeating odor of the hotel laundry services, atleast on the first floor. Despite our room being a down the hall and around a corner from the laundry services, all we could smell was chemical laundry odors. "It looks like just a split-level house, but Mr. and Mrs. Deal have turned it into a lovely oasis for visitors. They recommended Sofia's for lunch, an easy mile walk, and the food there is amazing. Mrs. Deal very kindly agreed to hold most of our luggage while we did a train ride to Seward for an overnight stay. She even put together a perfect brown bag breakfast since we were leaving so early.
