"We stayed in one of pet friendly rooms which was lovely built on to the side of the pub and came with out door seating . We had our evening meal in the bar with our spaniel which was lovely .the staff were lovely and made us really welcome "

"The breakfast was lovely and plentiful, whilst the parking was adequate as there were few guests. The room could of benefitted from having lampshades on the wall lights, there was a rouge hair in the bath and the dressing gowns were washed with too much detergent, thus not as soft as you might expect for five star accommodation, At the time of booking a table, the menu differed considerably from that seen online, in addition to the price having been increased. "From the first welcome to the final farewell, it was a joy to stay there. Substantive breakfasts, pet friendly, old manor house setting with great views. Good choice of relatively local (less than 10 miles) public houses for evening fare. Already hoping to get back there when next visiting the Lakes, which start only six miles north."
