"Little way out of town but only a 10 euro taxi ride to the colosseum. We liked this hotel and would return. Nothing exceptional overall which is why I rated it good but there was certainly nothing wrong with it either. Breakfast staff were the exception - very hardworking and attentive. Couple of decent eateries very close by if you dont want to go into the city centre."

Avoid the Hilton Garden Inn Rome Airport. One week before our 20th-anniversary trip to Rome, my husband died suddenly of a fatal arrhythmia . While organizing his funeral, I contacted Expedia and our hotels to move the dates to November so my autistic son and I could still take this trip in his memory. Every other hotel was deeply compassionate and accommodated us immediately.
Expedia customer service tried to intervene four times...

"I absolutely loved this hotel. Has a family run feel and an old fashioned (in the best way) charm. The concierge and his adorable assistant were just fantastic. Breakfast was unbelievable- everything you could want and so fresh and plentiful. Only there one night but we are definitely going back. Only downside was that the 40 euro set taxi fare to the ciampino airport (not sure about the other one) doesn’t apply as it’s ’out Of the centre’ so taxi ride was expensive- but that’s not the hotels...

"Hotel is not well kept, the rooms are very outdated and smaller than the photos being shared online. The bathroom was flooding when you took a shower, coming out of the floor drain, the coffee in the room was instant only with tea, NO ESPRESSO MACHINE, the plugs in the outlets were only EU, almost ever hotel now has USB/USBC adaptors in the wall. Lastly the front desk kept asking us if there was a fire in the room. I would not recommend staying here."
