At the Villa Marquez

The location is excellent for exploring on foot. It is very close to the port and the plaza. The room and bathroom are small. The bed took up most of the room so wouldn’t want to spend too much time there. The people are very helpful and welcoming.

I stayed for about a week. I love it because it is family owned. And Brono is the son. He is kind and knowledgeable, and has a Master Degree in Hosptality management. He gave me good reference for where to eat and park. The hotel is one minute from Police station, so it is very safe and in the central district of a small towns. I forgot to take my charger backs and I telephoned Brono and he saved for me. I plan to go back, so will pick up later or have them mail to me. All it is a good place with a good rate in the shoulder season. I highly recommend. But if you have a family or for two people the room maybe a bit small for you. San Antonio is such a tranquil twin, very peaceful in November.

Fantastic hotel

Excellent hotel. Reception very good and very helpful. This hotel is amazingly clean and comfortable. Our stay was relaxing and nice.

Great amazing friendly place

I loved to stay here, will definitely stay every time I go to the zone. From the beginning was perfect, arrived too early (10am) to check in and they were really nice and since the room was already ready they allowed us to go to it straight away when he didn't had to (check in was at 3pm). This saved us from walking around with our bags for 5h. The owner and staff are also really good people, always ready to help and even give good tips for the holiday. Amazing cozy place at the top with a big balcony, perfect to bring food and eating there, wonderful view and very peaceful at any time of the day or night, it's almost like a private heaven. If I could give a bigger rating I would. Thank you to everyone for a great perfect stay. I'll be back soon 😀

Giving it a rating of fair

Let’s start with backing up what others have said, the staff were great and the place was spotless. However, the room we had was tiny, smaller than any motel 6, and the bed was very firm which tends to be the case a lot in Portugal. So don’t let the 9. Whatever reel you in, this place is fine in a pinch and very affordable, but it’s not in the exceptional category by a long shot. It is central and the town I super cute.

Friendly family run and spotless guesthouse

Villa Marquez demonstrates perfect Portuguese hospitality. Everyone was friendly and helpful. They showed great patience as I tried out my Portuguese with them but they do speak good English as well. They offered good restaurant recommendations and advice about public transport. The guesthouse was really clean and tidy and the rooftop terrace is a great treat. They don’t serve breakfast but there are several lovely cafés nearby so that wasn’t a problem. It was nice to be out and about so early mixing with the locals. I’d highly recommend Villa Marquez for a stay in this undiscovered part of the Algarve.

We came to see the Christmas lights just a short stroll from the hotel hotel was very clean staff friendly hot shower good size bed and close to the main square excellent

On convenience, the Villa was close to the bus station, the ferry to Spain and the centre of this delightful town. On cleanliness, it was pristine On amenities, the shower room was tiny but the roof top balcony was a real treat. . On amenities

Immaculately clean place; the staff work very hard to keep it this way. The lady on the desk was very smiley and welcoming. Really convenient for the ferry to Spain and the train station too, with lots of shops and restaurants a short walk away. We loved the peaceful roof terrace, which has a beautiful view over the river and town and a resident stork building her nest nearby. For the price, it's excellent value and a great base to explore Vila Real de Santo Antonio. It was handy having a fridge, microwave and kettle; the only thing missing is a coffee machine or cafetiere!

Very pleasant residencial, spotlessy clean and good size rooms. Staff, although sometimes a bit distant, very friendly and helpful. Nice terrace with views over Vila Real, and the Guadiana river. Very central close to restaurants and shop and to the ferry to Ayamonte.

Zimmer lag im Erdgeschoss mit Fenster direkt zur Straße. Fenster daher wegen Sicherheit nicht geöffnet. Ansonsten sehr gute Lage.
