"I stayed in the Kava bungalow which I thought was excellent. That said, the stairs to the loft where the main bed is are small and steep so something to keep in mind if you need to try to make it down to use the bathroom and back up in the dead of night. The grounds and the view are straight out of your favourite travel influencer’s TikTok, so that’s a highlight, for sure. And the food at the restaurant was great. The whole place is up a steep hill so it’s not really walking friendly but if you...

"This is a great property if you wish to explore the south side of the island, or if you have your own vehicle. Unfortunately it is NOT 2.5 miles from the airport or the cruise ship port. You can get a 3 day tourist bus pass for 1 franc (a bus ride is 4 francs) but the busses stop running at 4:00 local time. The closest grocery store (outstanding selection of fresh fruit & veggies, meats, and...

All the food was exceptional and the service, some from our hosts little girls, was delightful."

It’s a short walk (5 minutes) on a nice beach path from the Teahupo’o photo wave spot and Olympic rings, or you can drive to the pension and park but only if you’ve got a vehicle capable of river-crossing - so that adds to the charm of the place as well. The pension is quite nice, super...
