"Although it was just a one night stay for me I received a very warm welcome, shown to my room and all staff; reception, bar and restaurant were first class in their roles. Room was clean and tidy and bed very comfy. Good selection of food and cooked breakfast to order."

High Force Hotel
"Really lovely hotel, beautifully decorated and very comfortable rooms and beds with a fantastic, powerful shower. Lots of lovely small touches like fresh milk and cookies in the room. We were on the front facing the road and it was very quiet at night even with the window open, no road noise at all. ..."

Durham City Cottages
"The cottages were easy to find the space small, but well set out and modern, the bed was horrible, we both had sore backs the next day, the mattress is very worn and you can feel the springs, and needs replacing, I would not recommend staying until they replace the mattress, at least in cottage 6, ..."
