"We stayed here as a stop off on our way to Edinburgh. The owners were lovely. Very welcoming. The rooms were clean and presented well. "

"Room was ok but breakfast was a big let down in quality and . Breakfast started at 7am and was cooked to order leaving little time to eat before leaving for my flight. Didn’t have fresh eggs , just fake scrambled egg (yuk). "

"We stopped for 1 night. The rooms were absolutely spotless, had everything you needed for a B&B. We were able to check in sooner than 3pm. the food was lovely. Great location, there was a hotel with a bar within about a 15 min walk. The couple who own it were really friendly. Weve already booked up to go back in june."

"Room was fine, tea and coffee wasn't very nice and no complementary biscuits. No magnifying mirror in the bathroom. States Brompton however 8 miles away. Bed was really uncomfortable. Evening meal was nice, 10% surcharge on you bill! Wine expenses! Breakfast was so so. Waited a long time for someone to come to the checkin fest on arrival and departure. Probably would try an alternative hotel "

"room was great, pub was very nice downstairs too and staff were very friendly. The expedia booking site said that the hotel had parking, however this is not the case - not a problem at all and the staff helpfully directed us towards a very local car park (5 minute walk away). "

"This is a classic quaint, village inn, excellent food, and very comfortable folksy rooms with loft beds. The proprietor and all the staff are super helpful and friendly. A perfect spot to hike directly to the best spots of Hadrians Wall."
