"Grounds are immaculate. Great view of the bush/river. Comfy bed. Good water pressure. Manager was fantastic. Good location (7 mins from New Plymouth by car). Quiet, safe. Can bike safely to New Plymouth ( sidewalk to round about on state highway 3 then side street with on road cycle path). Restaurant with yummy food on site. Things that could be better: Had only one BBQ so you need to reserve it in advance. Great stay and definitely a place I would go back. "

I made a mistake pre booking as when I checked in I overheard a walk-in getting a room for $38 dollars less per night than I had paid so think about the busyness of the hotel in winter. "Absolutely loved staying at the Devon Hotel. I had initially booked for 2 nights but because of some spare time, decided to go an extra night. Unfortunately the room I had booked wasn't available for the extra night so I had to book a different room. The staff at reception when checking in sorted it all out for me so that I was in the same room all 3 nights and made the experience seamless.
