"It’s a decent place to stay for the price. It’s an older property that has been recently renovated, but there are issues. Water from shower and bath puddles where it shouldn’t because the surfaces are uneven. Shower door was very difficult to open and shut and was noisy. But the suite I had was spacious and reasonably clean."

"Visited Grand Mercure in 2026, after the refurbishing. The landscaping works at the entrance is still being upgraded, and the entire hotel looks brand new. The team of staff were all efficient and warm, from the reception, concierge, to the Ambrosia Restaurant. They have a convenient shuttle to the mall, with a brand new van. The kueh lapis and grilled sausages at the breakfast buffet were delicious, and the chefs did the grilling on the spot. Will be keen to try the Sup Buntut next time around. Will definitely recommend travellers to visit this hotel, excellent experience in Batam. "

"We wanted to pop over the national park but was told that we needed to especially book for this and they don't accept walk-ins. We didn't manage to try the spa as it was full when we were free."

"The pool area is quite narrow. To make things worse, smoking was allowed anywhere. It could also be no one was enforcing no smoking at the poolside. I was with my kids and we have to keep moving to different parts of the pool to avoid 2nd hand smokes."
