"Amazing staff"

"I had a very pleasant stay overall and really appreciated the comfort and service provided. The hotel was very clean, well-maintained, and clearly lives up to its rating. The room was nicely arranged, which made the experience even more enjoyable. One small thing I did miss was having complimentary water bottles in the room, as this is something I’ve usually found helpful during my stays elsewhere. Additionally, a slight improvement could be made in the cleanliness just outside the building....

"I stay away around 200 nights a year and this place is ok. Comfy bed Nice properly, but the staff are just woefully inept at hosting, I wasn’t offered an evening meal or breakfast. The bar staff are quite possibly the least friendly robots one can imagine. Then there is the traffic outside the rooms, staying on the ground floor close to bins, the bottle emptying goes on until 11pm and then the bin truck arrives 6 hours later in the early hours for recycling.. then you have to deal with the...

"Excellent 2 night stay at the Hare and hounds. Such a lovely well presented pub and very nicely decorated rooms, Our room was named "The Flying Duck" and it was perfect. We ate in the restaurant on the first night and the food was amaizing. Breakfast both mornings was fab and fresh Its an easy 20 minute walk into Newbury but if walkings not your thing its a short drive with lots of pay and display parking in the town centre. On the topic of parking loads of free parking in the carpark...

"The food was excellent - both breakfast and evening meal. Full fresh cooked breakfast included in the cost of the room. Proper Americano coffee served at no extra cost with breakfast! I had a glass of champagne with the evening meal and it was chilled, bubbly and perfect. "

"Room wasnt the biggest but perfectly formed. Only disappointment was the shower was over a bath - difficult for me being slightly disabled to get in & out of. "

"Clean, simple room in a central location, easy for the train. I didn’t use the parking but it had good spaces if you need it. No toiletries provided. I forgot my phone charger, and they couldn’t lend me one but directed me to the shop over the road, where I could buy one. Didn’t try the breakfast but Bill’s is next door and was great."

"We loved our stay at this inn. The staff was very friendly and accommodating. We had a great breakfast in the morning, and we were very close to Highclere Castle. Definitely recommend The Carnarvan Arms."
