"We booked to stay 2 nights, arrived on Friday which was a heatwave day and was told we would get a fan in our room. When there was no fan in the room, we were told they are all allocated out! When questioned the staff, we got attitude and the response was- fine, you can have my fan, I won't have one! The same night it was thunder and lightning so we left the doors open in our room, 3am we got around 30 - 40 wasps fly into our room landing on us! It was horrific. We called reception and 2 people...

"Third time staying here due to the positive previous experiences. The positive streak continued with a great room featuring a fantastic air-conditioning unit which kept me cool in the June heat. A wonderful workout ensued in their very well-equipped gym set up. This was followed by a powerful shower and I went to dine nearby. Had a great night's sleep before a well-cooked breakfast got my day started perfectly. Can't wait to come back."

"I rarely write reviews but I needed to express our extreme disappointment at the standard of the Rose and Crown Hotel in Tonbridge. The external elevations are very tired but when inside it gets far worse. As with the outside, paint is peeling off everywhere and it looks as though no maintenance or upgrading has been carried out for many, many years. However, the worst thing is the lack of cleanliness. "We stayed at Days Inn by Wyndham Maidstone from 25–27 June 2026 and had a very upsetting experience. We were abruptly woken at 2:30am by a fire alarm and given inconsistent explanations (first an insect, later smoking). The lack of clear communication and reassurance left us feeling very unsettled, and we were unable to sleep for the rest of the night. Throughout our stay, service was poor and disorganised. We had issues with a broken hairdryer, delays in getting it replaced, and repeated...

"We had the most wonderful stay. Our room was beautiful and the big bath was a perfect treat! Also , the bed and pillows were super comfortable. Meals were delicious and the staff were courteous and friendly. We are already planning a longer stay in this really lovely hotel."

"The staff were all wonderful and helpful . It was 36c+ . The building is an old historic property with newly refurbished bedrooms . A fan was in the room to help with the heat . Small but comfortable with a lovely bathroom. My room faced the front and with the heat I needed my window open . The property is by the traffic lights so if you are traffic averse , ask for a rear room . Breakfast is continental but you can pay extra for a cooked breakfast, but not on Sundays . Room for 3 cars to park...

"Good value. Had a pleasant ground floor room overlooking greenery and you can open windows and French doors to get a pleasing evening breeze. Property is a little dated but we were fine with that. Access to plugs is an issue for charger, kettle and iron , cant use light plugs as different so have to pull out tv on stand to access and crawl in. They should have an extension plug pack to make it easier."

"Location is ideal for Lingfield races and East Grinstead. Greeted by helpful front of house staff. Breakfast was nicely cooked and lots of variety. All staff were polite and friendly. Bar was a little limited in choice of drinks but staff were polite and respectful. Outside seating area was under construction but plenty of room to sit peacefully and enjoy a morning cuppa. Overall a great stay 👍👍"

"Great hotel with friendly staff. Breakfast was freshly cooked with lots of it and was delicious. Although a fan was provided, our room was very hot but our stay did coincide with the hottest days of this year so far. Would definitely stay there again."
