"this hotel is shockingly bad. the carpets are black with dirt and it absolutely stinks of an old run down musty hotel. there for 12 ngts and never got room cleaned once. had to keep asking for towels and took my rubbish out myself. but the worst was I was eat alive with bed bugs all over my body. I stuck it for as long as I could but had to check out early. only reason I stayed here was it was the cheapest in brighton. absolutely not worth it. stay somewhere else. this review is honest and true."

"I loved it! The room was gorgeous, spacious and just right for my sister and I on my birthday eve. Breakfast was great and I am pleased. I didn’t realise it was above a pub but that wasn’t a problem. Free parking and 10mins drive to city centre. The AC in the room wasn’t functional but there was a back up fan that helped somewhat."

"Visited as we had a family funeral with the wake being held at the Bannatyne hotel. As a family we couldn’t recommend it more, we were given a room upgrade which was lovely. Breakfast was excellent with great choice for everyone. Would definitely stay again."

"We enjoyed a lovely sea view room that was clean, with tea making facilities and a lovely shower. Although on 2 evenings there was entertainment we didn’t hear it upstairs. The bed was comfortable and despite being at the front of the hotel on a busy road we had good nights sleep every night."

"Registration was cursory. Certainly not rude, just “fill in your details and here’s your key.” No offer of assistance for two seniors to carry suitcases up narrow stairs. No further information offered. Room was adequate. Shower is traditional British style - in a very high narrow tub, very dangerous for seniors in my opinion. Notice in room that no outside food allowed, and may result in an additional charge. Overall good value for money, but more of a two star than a three star hotel. "

"They say the rooms have air con but it’s a floor fan moving hot air around . No fridge in room. At £350.00 -a night. Window child locked , maintenance supposed to open them ,never arrived. Check in rigidly at 3pm for everyone so a large queue formed at 3 pm Clearly some rooms were ready before that but staff made no effort to help give keys out earlier."

"With parking on site and a bus stop outside, this was a great place to stay and good value for money. The building is a little tired, but the staff are helpful and the breakfast was excellent. I would stay again as is very convenient for visiting Brighton."
