"Unsure what makes this an eco retreat aside from the fact they ask you to bring your own water bottle to refill with water they provide and there is no hot water for showers. The property has a lot of potential but it felt maybe slightly neglected. There was a lot of debris on the ground, the kitchen area was really dirty and the room had rusty racks and shower curtains that allowed water to spray out all over the floor. "You can tell that the entire location was very thoroughly thought and planned out to its beauty! We loved that the location had lots of nature, a pool, and breakfast included. The only thing that we didn’t like was that there were lots of red ants that were coming through the bathroom window all throughout the night. We would find them in the sink, toilet, and wall beside the bed. "

"This is a great place in the forest about 25 minutes to some popular beaches. We loved exploring the area. The cabin was super clean and comfortable and the deck area is beautiful to have coffee while listening to the howley monkeys. The pool area is nicely set up for photo opps. The cherry on top is that they're pet friendly. We will stay again. "

"Large spotless room with plenty of space for belongings and comfortable bed. Private porch with chairs and table. Nice pool with chaise lounges and tables to eat surrounding it. The staff were all very friendly and helpful. Because we needed to leave at 5am they kindly made up breakfast boxes for us the night before. Short walk to a lovely beach where we swam and snorkeled. "The stay at El Sabanero Eco- Lodge was incredible. I stayed there with one of my close friends in a single bed suite. The room was clean and the air conditioning worked well. "First, we arrived by car and the road leading to Lagarta Lodge was rough to navigate, but once we arrived we were thrilled. Daniel greeted us in the lobby with a special drink and a hot moist cloth to was our hands. Our room had a panoramic view of the ocean and sunset. Our balcony was furnished with chairs, a table and a hammock. There were 3 infinity pools (one with a bar and one was a hot tub). "We weren't prepared for how remote this property is and the extended rainy season made it even more so with very poor road conditions. Be sure to stock up on EVERYTHING you'll need before going up there as a trip to any store or restaurant will be lengthy. We had to leave after staying only one of our two nights as we just didn't have enough food. "Great facility, close to everything in Nosara/Garza. Comfortable and spacious with great AC in the Casitas. Yoga deck was great up many steps with an amazing view right next to the pool. Mat room and gym facilities looked fantastic and a shared kitchen area would be very convenient. Great place for Nomad workers with strong WiFi, and peace & quiet. "
