Enjoyable and welcoming stay

Enjoyable nights stay in Brighton at The Oriental. Welcoming and friendly owners and staff who couldn't have done more to make you feel comfortable. Complimentary soft and hot drinks offered throughout our stay. Beds were comfortable. Breakfast was good. Service at breakfast was also very good. Will be happy to stay again.

Weekend football break

This is a great place to stay in Brighton walking distance to everything However the owners & staff make this into a superb hotel - nothing is too much trouble for the team who are outstanding hosts I’d throughly recommend staying here I literally can’t find a single fault

An amazing hotel!!

It was a lovely stay with the nicest staff members. The attention to detail is the best I have ever seen and the facilities are excellent. A great room and a wonderful stay. The breakfast was delicious on both days and the owner was so welcoming. The location is also ideal and close to the town, sea and station. I would highly recommend and it is definitely somewhere I’d love to stay again.

Fantastic unique place to stay

The Oriental is an amazing, friendly place to stay with excellent hosts who go over and above to make,sure that you gave all you need. Little extra touches like complementary tea coffee and cale just make tbe stay extra special. Thank you Lola and team.

Really lovely place to stay. Very comfortable room and great bathroom. Lots of treats in room and brilliant tea and coffee making facilities in room plus tea and cake available free in bar. Some great art to look at. Very welcoming staff. Hope to return one day.

Oriental Treasure

From the friendly greeting on arrival to checking out our stay was delightful. The room was in the small side but clean and comfortable. Breakfast was good and tasty - scrambled eggs were excellent. Quirky, beautifully designed, a little treasure. Definitely recommend.

We really enjoyed our stay at the Oriental. The hotel has a really comfortable atmosphere and Lola and the staff were very welcoming - the complimentary drinks and the snacks in the room were very much appreciated after a day walking round Brighton! The location is ideal, 15 mins walk from the Lanes and pier. We parked in the under ground car park at Regency Square, which was only a couple of streets away. 2 thumbs up, would definitely stay here again!

Brighton weekender

Great guest house located close to all that Brighton has to offer. We had a superior room on the top floor so you need to prepare for climbing lots of stairs as the character packed building has no lift…but it’s well worth it. Breakfast was good too with bottomless tea, coffee or juices in the eclectically decorated lounge. Staff are friendly, helpful and polite.The Oriental definitely hit the spot for us!

Fantastic quirky boutique guesthouse 10/10

A big shout out for this quirky boutique guesthouse. From the friendliness and helpfulness of the staff and owner to the thoughtful personal touches and local information in the room, super cocktails, relaxed atmosphere, excellent breakfast, comfortable bed, I really cannot recommend this guesthouse enough. We stayed in the suite and It was a home from home, would definitely return next time we visit Brighton, thank you for making our weekend so special

FAB time at The Oriental

It was a last-minute booking and we didn't know what to expect except the reviews and photos looked positive. We are so thankful we got the last-room available as it was perfect!! Cozy, clean, eclectic, unique hotel. The staff are so helpful and relaxed even helping us with a 'suitcase' lock that could have set the whole weekend off in tears. Will definitely go back and stay longer, complimentary tea and cakes too ;} well-done!!

Give me chocolate & I'll give you a great review!

It's not perfect but it's wonderfully quirky and great value with some lovely touches, such as snacks in the room and lovely toiletries. The bed was super comfortable, and while the room wasn't toastie-warm, there was a spare blanket (which I didn't notice!) Breakfast room is lovely and colourful. The staff are really welcoming, accomodating and attentive. The location is great, although the street is not especially salubrious. Slight gripe: it's listed as having 'parking available' but the parking is not designated and is not free at all except between 8pm-9am.

We really loved our stay and would recommend the Oriental and hope to go back again sometime. All the staff are great, the breakfasts are lovely and good value and we loved little things like the very well stocked in room tea and coffee facilities, the free snacks, that we could get free tea, coffee and soft drinks, the aromatherapy lamp in the room, nice hot shower, good but quiet location, good WiFi, and the decor and cleanliness. It’s a lovely building. The only minuses were a slightly loose tap in the sink and acrylic curtains rather than cotton, but these didn’t detract from the experience and we were so glad to find this place!

Hidden gem!

Stayed 1 night in Room 9 (top of guest house). I was given a warm welcome by Lola and was able to leave my suitcase before check-in so I could wander around Brighton. I was informed in advance that there were a few steps to the room. Nice, cosy room with all amenities. Perfect for singles or a couple with limited baggage. Quiet stay with comfortable bed. Breakfast was superb with both healthy and meaty choices. The attention to detail and warm service will ensure a return stay. This is a cosy guest house. Lola and staff are so welcoming and helpful. We had a fabulous one night stay at The Oriental. The reviews that we'd read were true. The staff were incredibly friendly, helpful and very welcoming. We loved the individuality of the decor which made it feel homely - rather than a clone of hotel chain rooms! The facilities were great and we enjoyed a delicious full English breakfast, unlimited tea/coffee & soft drinks for the duration of our stay and even snacks in our room. We would highly recommend The Oriental and will definitely be staying again if we return to Brighton.
