"One of the staff with the name of Lily I guess informed us that they would charge for the 2 water bottles which is so annoying as this is supposed to be a five star property and we were there for 4 nights! Water should be provided at the least to the guests I feel. Otherwise the rest of the staff was lovely and we enjoyed our stay. "

" Very average hotel, devoid of any character. Staff functional but not particularly engaging. Modern and clean but weirdly given a triple room despite booking a deluxe double. Ended up with cramped room and a table with only 1 chair! Didn’t try food or drink as local offering is far more interesting."

"Lovely staff, nicely renovated room in iconic building, great Penhaligons amenities in the room. We were disappointed howerever with the quality of the breakfast: the cured meats were of poor quality, same as the cheese. We stayed on the 1st floor on a Saturday night, and we could hear music from the restaurant below until 11pm, if not midnight. Lastly, th bar at the area is always busy (no spaces reserved for guests) and we couldn't get a table to have some light lunch after checking out."

"Right next to the train station! Great location for pubs - we found a nice restaurant (salt and charcoal) the last night we were there Staff of hotel are wonderful- breakfast is wonderful We had trouble getting our room cleaned - I guess they give them weekends off "

"Perfectly placed. Both quiet and central. Near to both beach and restaurants. Room large and clean. We were there to run the Brighton half marathon and the staff couldn’t have been more welcoming and helpful for us with the early start and even provided protein bars and snacks for us. Will definitely stay here again and would recommend for any occasion 100%. Bar area had a lovely atmosphere to sit and play games. All the amenities that we needed were here and more and didn’t cost any more than...

"Location great. Easy access. Not worth the money they ask. Smell of urine in stairwell. No hot water for shower in morning. Shower head coming off wall. Thick dust on bathroom towel rail. Stained carpet. Has potential, but clearly not checked for consistent level of quality. Disappointed "
