"Excellent simple accommodation with shared bathroom. Extremely clean, warm and relatively quiet (for an old building). No notification of door key code as promised but staff resident so no issues with 21:00 check-in. Would definitely stay again."

"We stayed at Braid Hills Hotel for the first 3 nights of our honeymoon, and had a fantastic stay! Staff were lovely and very accommodating. Location was a bit far from downtown, but easy enough to get everywhere using the bus, and there was a bus stop right out front. Food in the restaurant was good but a little pricey. Hotel and rooms were clean and comfortable. "

"Rooms very tired and in need of decorating which is something the hotel is meant to be undergoing. The room we booked was the superior one the tv did'nt work no live tv at all on it the wardrobe base was falling apart and curtains hanging off, you couldn't even open the sash window so no fresh air for the room but they do supply fan and two heaters big stain on the wall by the bed . The towel rail in the bathroom was dirty when wiped with tissue. Good points continental breakfast really nice and...

"Das Hotel liegt zentral in der Nähe der Universität und ist für Stadttouren sehr geeignet, sehr schön und sauber. Einziger Mnjuspunkt ist, dass es leider keinen Parkplatz direkt in der Nähe gibt, man muss etwa 5 Minuten auf den Campus laufen, dort gibt es ein sehr sauberer modernes Parkhaus. Informationen dazu auf der Homepage des Hotels wären gut gewesen."

"I didn’t order breakfast but the couple times I ordered a cappuccino in a glass mug, it was only have full. Previous stays it was always full. Air conditioning didn’t seem to function properly."

"We at first got a room which was too warm, with the airco not working. Gladly we got another room. Bathroom (for disabled) could use some renovation. Staff was helpfull. Nice lobby with free tea and coffee for guestst. Superb location for exploring Edingburgh, buses and trams stop right in front, incl. the Airlink bus. Our room was at the side of the hotel, nice and quiet. Overall, recommended."
