"Great hotel and staff. One of the best I've recently stayed at. The little touches that make your stay amazing. Also close to pubs and restaurants. Definitely would come again and recommend to family and friends."

"Easy to find and helpful staff when we arrived early . Light flickering in toilet but sorted by staff straight away . Found previous occupants half eaten Chinese takeaway still in the bin in the room which wasn’t great . Reported to reception all very apologetic but should really happen if housekeeping being done throughly . Maybe they just had an off day . Colleague in separate room only had one towel in the room, no bathmat and no hand towel but as a sole occupant she decided not to complain...

"I've stayed at the hotel multiple times and never had a problem until Wednesday 15th July. The building is obviously old so limited to what they can do, but second floors rooms in peak summer are like pizza ovens. The small ancient fan is not enough and I barely slept."

"Reconsider your choice if you’re planning to visit in the summer. There’s no air conditioning and the windows open about an inch. They do provide one fan but it was extremely hot in the room. I wouldn’t stay again in the heat. The terrace and bar were lovely. Burger was good. In general the place needs some TLC. "On arrival the staff were very friendly and even upgraded our room. The room was clean and tidy, and very acceptable. Easily accessible to the old market town of Chipping Sodbury and the stunning village of Castle Combe which we did both. "I had a warm welcome and my case was taken up to my room. The room was large with king sized bed. All clean, dated, but that suited the age of hotel! There was a small table with kettle and a selection of tea, coffee etc. Large en-suite with large shower. Lots of choices on breakfast menu and cooked freshly. Parking was easy. Location was excellent. 5 minutes walk to Lacock Abbey. Lacock is a very small place but very interesting."

"In my booking confirmation via Expedia the price for parking was confirmed to be 30 GBP per night, which is already quite expensive. However upon arrival the price was 50 GBP per night, which is just useless. Other hotels are able to honor the price confirmed at the time of the booking for existing bookings also when the car park is managed through an external company.
