The beach spot this resort sits in would be enough to easily give this resort a 5 star rating. However everything else is subpar. The food choice is the same every day and lacks taste. They don’t have enough beach towels for everyone so if you get one, you’re likely not able to get a clean one and end up reusing it. Rooms are outdated. No privacy in the bathroom, you can see through. They now charge for the cevicheria, which used to be included and was a highlight food choice. Oh and they also don’t believe in guacamole anymore so even after paying for ceviche, it tastes bland. Whoever runs this resort seems more focused on cost cutting than customer satisfaction. This was my 3rd time staying there and it left me not wanting to go back.

Chambre propre mais grand besoin de rénovation (moisissure dans la douche, l’air chaude extérieur qui rentre par la porte patio, etc.). La vue du balcon était magnifique. Odeur d’égouts près de la piscine ce qui est moins attirant pour y rester. Peu de chaise également à la piscine. Buffet très petit et ordinaire. Peu de choix de restaurant sur place, nous avons été souper à l’extérieur presque chaque soir. Arrivée là-bas, frais surprise comme 1 restaurant non inclus, le café est un Starbuck donc payant, etc. Plage et emplacement parfait. Ne devrait pas être côté 5 étoiles.

This is a truly beautiful resort with outstanding service from all staff. Everything was excellent—the food and drinks, the clean and well-maintained beach and pool, and the comfort throughout the property, from the lounge chairs to the rooms and restaurants. We felt relaxed and well cared for at all times. A special thank-you to JC, our beach and pool server, who made our stay exceptional. His attentiveness, friendliness, and consistency stood out every day, and his service genuinely enhanced our experience more than any other amenity. JC represents the high standard of hospitality at this resort and deserves special recognition. We would absolutely return, and this resort will quickly become a favorite for anyone visiting Isla Mujeres.

Balcony view was nice, we booked double beds in tve room for family of four, we got a king and a small cot, told us we needed to confirm via phone before the trip. So do call ahead to make sure they have what you booked ahead.

The property is very old and, even though we paid a ton of money for a deluxe villa, there was no place comfortable to sit. It just had two cheap little plastic chairs besides the bed. The floors were constantly wet, the shower leaked all over the bathroom floor, and the sliding door rattled loudly every time the wind blew. The staff and the service were fantastic so we have nothing bad to say about any of the service we received but the "all inclusive" is a bit of a joke. The drinks are watered down, the food is buffet style and mediocre at best. Even the restaurants where you can make a reservation and eat for free has mediocre food. Most of it not even hot. They have bicycles "included", but not a single one of them is rideable due to rust, flat tires, and overall neglect. We were constantly hit on by the staff about joining their VIP group which was rather annoying. It's bad enough that you can't walk through town without everybody trying to sell you something but to have that in your luxury hotel as well is just too much.

All inclusive, except the basics. The location is beautiful, the amusement plentiful, the facilities clean, and yet the 4 star level of service isn’t really there. The food was good with attentive service at the buffet and restaurant. They had a nice range of activities which were easy to access and clearly communicated through multiple schedule listings. However, when my daughter wet the bed during her afternoon nap, it took 4 attempts over 4 hours to get fresh linens (the grand finale being me standing in the lobby in a collagen mask and my pajamas at 9:30pm while three staff members spent ten additional minutes searching for linens and the two remaining staff members did their best to ignore me). No apology was offered, and my attempts to follow up with management were brushed off. Then, two days later, housekeeping removed all our towels (they had inexplicably made up the room even though I didn’t put out my placard requesting it), and it took over an hour to get more. I have stayed at hotels ranging from 2 to 5 stars, and I’ve never waited more than 15 minutes for items like blankets or towels. I’m genuinely shocked at how poor their response time was. Additionally, the hotel offers no laundry services of any kind and guests have to walk about half a mile to a lavanderia get anything cleaned. I just don’t need someone to offer me drinks all day if I can’t get clean sheets in an appropriate time frame.

The staff were extremely welcoming and allowed us to check-in early and enjoy the property amenities! Would stay here again! The Mexican a-La-carte restaurant was the best resort food I have had! Our server was phenomenal!

Overall was good, best beach you can be on. The staff was nice and very attentive. The food was ok, somewhat mediocre, lack of night time entertainment or somewhat boring shows. The bar closes early, at 10 pm and only one bar really, specialty restaurants were jot great. The property itself was dated, rooms were small. We stayed in a delux room with a very nice view, but instead of 2 queen beds, we got 2 double beds. The bathroom was super tiny. If not for the beach, I would likely not go back, irrespective of how nice everyone was. Still recommend visiting at least once if you are a frequent Cancún traveler and want to enjoy the water, snorkeling, beach, etc. you really can’t beat that beach.

Clean rooms , staff was pleasant, beautiful beaches, great snorkeling and swimming area. The food was good the drinks were good. The only reason I gave it a 4 instead of a five was every day they tried to talk to you about time shares and they said they could accommodate my needs for gluten free and soy free diet and they could not. So my food choices were very limited. They also don’t state that what they consider top shelf alcohol (Tito’s vodka and many others) is not included. For an extra $100 per day they would include top shelf. JC was fantastic he even delivered drinks in the water.

As always, beautiful property, amazing service, kind staff and the best drinks and snorkeling on the island! Hoping they will update the rooms a bit more to fix some of the chipping paint and PLEASE add doors to the bathrooms that close and allow for privacy. Otherwise, amazing spot with the best location on Isla. We will be back again =)

We were extremely disappointed with our experience at Mia Reef Isla Mujeres. We had booked an upgraded villa room type, expecting a higher-quality stay, but what we arrived to was nowhere near what was advertised. We ended up leaving immediately after checking in — we didn’t even unpack — because the resort’s condition was unacceptable for a 4-star all-inclusive. The property overall felt neglected and run down. Outside, there was trash scattered around the grounds, broken outdoor speakers, dirty restaurant windows, and workers performing technical maintenance in guest areas. Nothing appeared clean or properly maintained. Our “upgraded” room was in even worse condition. It was outdated, dirty, and barely livable. There was a tiny mini-fridge placed directly on the floor with rust around the bottom, water-damage stains on the ceiling, broken light fixtures, stained curtains, and stained cushions on the balcony furniture. The bedding situation was also unacceptable — one queen bed and a cot for two adults and two children, despite booking a villa category. Dirt and dust were visible along the baseboards and where the walls meet the ceiling. Several fixtures, including the faucet, were rusted or heavily worn. To top it off, there were no towels in the room; they had to be brought separately. Overall, the condition of the resort felt more like a cheap roadside motel than a 4-star island property. The photos and descriptions online were extremely misleading.

There was no hot water not even warm water and the staff knew about it and made no effort to address the issue. Other guests discussed the same issue with us. JC the waiter was awesome. Tito’s is top shelf lol They did not have any domestic beer, food was mediocre. Beach area was nice.
