Location is amazing for snorkeling and swimming. The staff is super nice and helpful. The only reason I would not come back to this particular resort is the food and restaurant situation. The make you make a 24hr reservation to all their restaurants, but only 1 is included in the all inclusive. The food is not good. Very Americanized. Which might be good for some people, but not for us. And they will try to sell you a timeshare/membership to their hotels.

* 20 minute cab ride, 20 minute ferry ride and 20 minute walk gets you there * turquoise waters look wonderful * beaches and snorkeling areas are crowded; day passes sold to property and ocean view is completely blocked with boats parked just outside the property buoys - either to access the public beaches across from the hotel or to access the hotel waters for paid snorkel excursions * no hot or even lukewarm water; signs everywhere asking you not to flush toilet paper in toilets? * staff friendly * food quality is good, variety is not * Italian restaurant is pay only - unless you are a "member"; members can also access it for breakfast * seafood bar/grill on main beach always full - accessible for those paying for a day pass paying cash * a lot of small children * rooms are dated and not in good shape, mattresses old and I slept in a depression each night * all waterfront beds reserved for "members only" * Buying your vacation package through Expedia - you receive a different coloured bracelet than those buying directly through Mia Reef - you are prioritized and treated as such * Room mini bar not restocked with beer unless you tip the beverage person who is not the maid * 8-10 free bicycles available to guests to tour island from 10am - 5pm; when we tried to use them, they were all broken (spokes, chains, seats, you name it) except for 1; employee told us that the bikes were not made to be in this type of environment and have had to be fixed for some time

Rien n’est comme sur les photos ! Pleins d’herbe dans l’eau, pleins de bateaux qui vient proche de notre plage. Chambrés très très désuets et très chers pour avoir voyager beaucoup. Piscine très petites pleins d’enfants.

The beach was AMAZING. We saw so many cool fish just by doing beach snorkeling. I honestly think this resort has the best beach on the island. The food was really good too.

Staff was overall very good and attentive to our needs and plenty of staff too. Hotel shower was very dirty which we brought to the attention of mgmt and they offered a deep cleaning that didn't make a huge difference. They also offered us a complimentary meal at their very nice Italian restaurant which did have very good food. While we could tell they maintain the property certain things looked kind of run down especially the wooden lounge chairs in the pool which should just be taken out and replaced. Food and drink quality was generally pretty high and abundant. Would be helpful to have stronger wifi throughout the property and a small business center for calls or printer hook up, etc.

The views are unbelievable, water is crystal clear, and our snorkel guide picked us up at the pier on the property. We enjoyed that the majority of guests were not from the US while we were there. Every staff member was attentive and kind, and a few took the time to get to know us. We were surrounded by Spanish speakers and locals. It was wonderful!

This is my third time at this resort. I visited in 2017, attended a wedding in 2019 and now this. From 2017 to now it is very different, and has a more relaxed/chill vibe. If you’re looking to party, this isn’t the place for you. R&R is what you’ll get here. I booked a queen size bed in a basic room with partial ocean view. Upon check in, there was no partial ocean view, just a roof and walls and it was definitely a full size bed - I even measured with the iPhone app. When i brought this to the front desk I was told there was nothing available but I could upgrade for $65/night. Expedia called but due to management being off on a Sunday there wasn’t anything they could do. The bed also creaked and squeaked pretty loudly so after showing a video of this my room was switched and I somehow got a queen bed. Still no ocean view though. This was the only real hiccup of the trip. Obviously, the beach view and ocean water is a 10/10! Beautiful, picturesque scenery where you can relax and get a tan. Staff is very friendly and always available to help. The food is nothing over the top, but it gets the job done and they do a good job of switching menu items up throughout the day. During the lunch hour if you’re not feeling the buffet they offer burgers, hot dogs and fries. The Mexican restaurant was delicious - get the birria quesadilla! There’s also an Italian restaurant for an additional fee. All in all this resort is the place for R&R and beautiful beach views. I would return.

My husband and I decided to upgrade to a deluxe villa so we could wake up each day to the beautiful ocean view. The room was tiny, shower head needed to be replaced, the mirror in the bathroom had no finish in the corners and looked rusty. TV would not work unless you connected to WiFi which wasn’t possible anywhere except the main bar. Only able to get low level alcohol and only Modelo beer available at the bar. We loved the ocean view along with the amazing sunrises and sunsets.

Small quiet resort, not the place for party people. Amazing place to snorkel with beautiful clear water and sandy bottom. This was my third visit to the resort and probably my last. The management team was not friendly or helpful like they used to be and some of the staff made my family feel like we were an inconvenience when making basic requests. We are polite and tip well, so I’m not sure what brought on the change… time to explore some new options.

Good food, great staff, rooms are small but bed very comfortable. Bathroom extremely small. Husband about knocked himself out a couple times hitting head on towel rack. Reserved a two bed but only got one. View was obstructed by top of front side of building. This was suppose to be a Deluxe double room. Location and property was very good and loved the beach. For some reason last day we were there did not get waited on one time on the beach for drinks. Maybe short staffed. Idk. But overall I would stay there again but maybe a different type of room.

Have been four times. Still an unbeatable location but the beach had seaweed, the service was poor and the food was bad!!!!!

big disappointment . years ago , my wife and i stayed here on our honeymoon, it was great the town was great . we had a deluxe suite ocean front villa it had a bed room area with seperate sitting area and kitchenette and an ocean front balcony, fabulous place to stay. this time however i book a deluxe suite ocean front villa . there was nothing deluxe or suite about it. i have had better rooms at the motel 6. it was a bed in a room and one small tabe with a coffe maker on it and a mini fridge on the floor.thats it. nothing to put your luggage on nowhere to sit . not a single chair. not even a do not disturb sign . nothing . i go and complian that i was given the wrong room, they said that is the room you ordered through expedia and they are not at fault or affiliated with them . the wrist bands they give you says expida.com right next to mia reef .i said can i get a different room? no we are all booked. how about a chair and a luggage rack and how about a do not disturb sign . i got the luggage rack . i made my own do not disturb sign and never got a chair . they did try to bribe me with a free dinner to not leave a bad review i said no and did not sign the waiver. they gave me the dinner anyway and asked what else i would want in leu of the room i was supposed to have i said money? that was a no so i said get me a cab to the ferry on checkout day . they said ok to that . so on check out day we get to the ferry and the cab driver demands payment. they stiffed me.

Food: 1 star Service: 5 star View and snorkeling experience: 5 star Depending on your expectations. The rooms are lame but the view and experience in the ocean and being able to walk in a huge area in the beautiful waters and also snorkel is worth it.

ma chambre était propre et la femme de chambre à prise un soin méticuleux tout les jours. La restauration buffet fut excellente, par contre le restaurant à la carte etait plus tôt ordinaire. L’ensemble de l’hôtel aurait besoin que les gens soit plus attentionné sur la propreté des fenêtres et des portes en générales. Malgré, il y a de forte chances que j’y retourne si les prix reste semblable.

I’ve been coming to this resort for 20 years. Absolutely love it. The staff is beyond amazing. I do wish the dinner buffet was a bit upgraded. But I will be back!!!!

We have been visiting Mia for over 10 years, have always loved it. Hadn’t been there for 4 years and just returned home a few days ago. Amenities that used to be available to everyone, are now only available to “members”. We also had so many issues with Mia and Cancun in general, that we may never return.

Beach is incredible, ocean views are amazing and being within walking distance to Hidalgo Street was super cool. Rating it a three because of that. Spa was also pretty great. All three of us had a nice massage. Otherwise resort is terrible. It is run down and desperately needs updating. Beds are terrible, my husband and I kept rolling to middle because the mattress was sunken in the center. Scratchy sheets. The food is the WORST we have ever had at an all inclusive. Nothing was edible except toast. Being able to walk to Hidalgo and get amazing food was the only thing that saved that but we paid for all inclusive to not spend extra money on food. Truly the worst food. Wouldn’t go back because of that.
