"I had a very disappointing experience at Hyatt Place (San Diego/Vista-Carlsbad). We stayed here for 5 days, and throughout our entire stay, housekeeping never cleaned our room—not even once. Let alone changing linen, they didn’t even take out trash,nor refilled shampoos nor toilet papers. We had to repeatedly request basic necessities like towels, toilet papers every time. There are no instructions about how to reach to front desk, but had their onsite restaurant ads. We had to call Hyatt customer service and front desk didn’t respond even to that. What made the situation worse was the complete lack of accountability and care from management. I tried reaching out to the Assistant General Manager, Carol Requena, multiple times regarding these issues, but received no response. When I finally spoke with her in person at the front desk, her attitude was dismissive—no apology, no effort to resolve the issue, just “what can I do?” This level of indifference is shocking. The lady at the front desk when we checked out was more courteous, acknowledged the problems, also delivered towels to our room herself. Staff at the breakfast are working hard but understaffed for the rush. Based on this experience, I would strongly not recommend this hotel, especially for families looking for a comfortable and well-serviced stay. There is a clear lack of responsibility, accountability, and basic customer care. Just looking at the brand I didn’t even research on the reviews ahead thoroughly."

"My family and I stayed here 10 days for vacation. First I want to say this is one of the immaculately cleanest hotels we have ever stayed and we have been a lot of places around the world. The cleaning crew was always cleaning something. The pool, hallways and outside was cleaned everyday. You can tell they take care of this hotel. The breakfast was good. They do omelets with ham, spinach, cheese etc. you can get to-go trays if needed. They have a free coffee bar and a little store if you forget anything. There’s a 711 and stores close in walking distance. Amusement parks like sea world and Belmont are about 40 min. They have beautiful views and just a great place to stay. The staff are amazing, want to give a shout of to Nadia, Perla, Kelly, Isaiah, and Mark for being outstanding in customer service and always having a smile when asked for something. And thank you Mr. Holmes for making our stay comfortable. Give this a 10 all the way around and we will be staying at more of your properties when we return☺️"

"Was supposed to stay at The Welk , a Hyatt vacation club resort in Escondido, it was awful (including the service and room). We left within 20 mins of being there. Drove straight to the Omni in Carlsbad. This hotel and staff were AMAZING! From the registration desk, the food, rooms, pools, grounds, all of it. Impeccable service and incredibly clean. It was a true Oasis. We ended up staying an extra night because we loved our experience. I can’t wait to go back. "

"We booked this hotel for a staycation. We’ve done staycations at the Legoland resort, Westin, and Sheraton all within the vicinity. Positves: the room was clean and decor was modern. The room looked updated. We booked a suite that had a separate room with twin beds for our kids. This is a great set up. Negatives: My husband tried calling over and over to ask for an early check in. No one answered. We arrived and were told our room would be ready shortly. We walked over to Karl Straus and had lunch. When we got back we were told the crew was on lunch and were now going to start cleaning our room. The restrooms were out of toilet paper that we changed in for the pool. I told an employee who told me to go to the other bathroom by the quiet pool rather than getting someone to change the toilet paper. The family pool is dated and had lots of dead bugs floating in it. Last but not least, we were on the south side of the hotel and the elevator by our room went down by the brewery. The elevator didn’t require a key to get back up. This is a huge safety hazard at this hotel. This is not a local hotel we will be returning to. "
