"Cracking find in Cambridge, lovely staff, excellent parking which is not often the case in Cambridge and a comfortable room with all the amenities you can want. At breakfast cooking was done for each of us individually and was top notch.
Location was ideal pleasant 10-15 minute walk to the centre.
I don’t usually stay in guest houses but wouldn’t hesitate to return here"

"We were pleasantly surprised. Very friendly, exceptionally clean room, esp the bed linen. Breakfast was ceral, yogurt, croisants , muffins plus cooked english. The waitress was super friendly with great banter. Being able to park was a plus, great pub opposire, 20 minute walk to the corn exchange. The walk was very enjoyable and we crossed the river to get into the city. My husband lost the front door/ room keycard however the sister hotel The Arundel fixed , even though it was almost midnight ....

"Breakfast was self serve up by the rooms but worked fine. No toiletries in the bathroom to shower in the morning . No TV but that did not bother me. Quite a nice change.
Lovely pub with a roaring log fire and nice dinner menu in a very cute village

"This is the first negative review I've ever had to give.
We stayed at The Golden Lion Hotel St. Ives. (13-14 Feb)
We stayed in Room 20 which was very small and had the constant, very loud noise of the kitchen extractor humming. On the first night it was still on at 10.45pm and we had to ask Reception to deal with it and then it was back on, waking us up at 7pm.
Whilst we understand the extractor has to be in use, this has ruined our relaxing break. We could not have a lie in or return to our...

"Nice room (though the bathroom lacked a shelf for you to put your stuff) and well appointed. The parking was irksome (and even though hardly anyone was using it day and night the staff gave me a tedious "if we break a rule for you we'd have to do it for everyone" admonishment.) Frankly it was fine but not really £250-worth of value."
