"Very clean, very large and well appointed room. Very quiet with really comfortable bed. Shower and bath very clean. Breakfast was very good with many choices set out in a beautiful room. The hotel is in a historic building, with new addition for rooms, right across from Sutter's Fort State Historic Park in center Sacramento. Good place to walk with lots of shade trees. Nearby there are many options for eating. The state capitol with lovely gardens is very close. There is street parking nearby....

"The place itself will take you back yo the past. . Just like a museum. Lots of memorabilia antiques and vintage that tell you a story. House structure is superb. From a dramatic light at night; The siren of the old trees waiving by the winds. To the whistle of birds combining tones creates music in my ears. Whhat else I can say. "

"Everyone was great! The only thing that was a concern for me was whatever they used to wash the sheets made very allergic. It was scented and I couldn’t sleep."

"The staff was helpful and the lady working the breakfast bar was beyond helpful and very welcoming. The room and “amenities” were not that great. The room itself was not the cleanest and the bathroom door is awkward and annoying, it’s a sliding door that doesn’t close all the way so you can hear whoever is in the bathroom at all times. Having to pay for parking each day is a joke considering it’s in a bad looking area, and not guarded. Parking used to be free and was a major let down. "

"We stay at The Sterling once a year. This may be the last time we do so. The main issue was the shower/tub. The main shower head would only dispense cold water. We had to use the small body shower head to clean. The water would not drain from the tub. We had multiple people staying in our room. After 2 showers, we had half a tub full of dirty water so the rest of our guests were unable to shower. The volume on the remote for the tv also did not work. "It is a smaller hotel. There are homeless people outside everywhere and you’re in the same parking lot as a gas station. Basically the location is actually good for downtown. It’s very very close like 1 mile our window in our room did not shut and lock so that was a concern of mine, but fortunately nothing happened. "
