"This is close enough to Oban but still far enough away ... you felt like you were getting both a bigger city but also a cute hotel on the water. The restaurant/pub made it feel so cozy and the rooms were good and meet all the needs. It felt very comfortable."

"While the beds and linens were crisp and clean, the carpet badly needs replaced. It was visibly dirty and dusty. There are no air-conditioning units in the rooms and while we were brought a fan that kind of just kicked up the dust from the carpet and gave me a mess of a headache and allergies. "The hotel was okay no elevator. Pillows were hard and the beds uncomfortable. The bathroom door would creek when you open it . No A/C but I knew that before I booked it. "The Whiskey Vault business runs a a bar restaurant plus a small hotel. The best of this accommodation is its convient town center location. The room we had is clean but space is really tight. When we arrived at around dinner time, the hotel receptionist was not there so we checked in with the staff at the bar. "We loved our two nights stay at Melfort House. It was peaceful idyll that restored us somewhat as we were nearing the end of our road trip through Scotland. Breakfast was delicious, we also had dinner there and it was wonderful, other than they did not cook my steak correctly, but they took it off the bill, which is great customer service."
