"The historic building is simply beautiful, very charming, and well-restored. The room was spacious, and the bathroom was well-equipped. The service in the restaurant was very friendly but extremely slow. The food was rather mediocre. Breakfast was actually quite poor. There was barely a tablespoon of yogurt with the granola, and the toast was cold and hard like rusk. The location itself is beautiful."

"The property as in a great location, great bathroom ! and the staff was great help. They allowed us to check in early, parking and the room was clean. Good place to stay for Oxford, just outside Oxford, within walking distance but outside enough to not get a large amount of traffic."

"The shower thermostat in my room did not work properly. It would not cool the water and was extremely hot. I told the reception when I left as I was only staying one night and only discovered the problem in the morning. It was inconvenient as I could not shower properly."

"The absence of air conditioning and the fact that bedroom windows only had one small top window that could be opened meant that we experienced an extremely hot and uncomfortable night. This hotel property appears to be undergoing some refurbishment but unless it is going to install air conditioning, during hot weather it will not make the best of its superb position close to the centre of town"

"We enjoyed our stay at the Crown and Thistle very much. The room was a good, the breakfast was was very good, too and the staff helpful. It would have been nice to have a lift but I assume that can't be helped."
