"We had to leave very early the next morning to take part in the Macmillan Mighty Hike and the staff accommodated us, giving us instructions on how we could check ourselves out, thank you! My only complaint would be the showerhead in our room was very grimy and should be replaced, otherwise the room was excellent!"

"The staff - special mention for Sam - were helpful and there when needed. I forgot to pack our toothbrushes and we were supplied with them free of charge. The bedroom was small but it's an old coaching inn so many irregularities to be expected. The bathroom was big! Dinner and breakfast were very good and the location is good. Not far to the lake district or borders and very peaceful in a small village."

"We had the most amazing stay at The Pheasant Inn. Stuart, Alison, Christine & all the staff made our week away perfect. Nothing was too much trouble & everyone was so friendly. The food was beautiful & piping hot just as we like it. We are definitely going to return to the Lake District & we will definitely be staying at The Pheasant Inn. "Our stay here was brief but I was happy to see that they were willing to serve dinner not long before closing. (There aren’t a lot of dining choices nearby.) It is an older property but everything functioned and was clean. Boot tray in the closet for wet boots was a good feature, although we lucked out with the weather. We also appreciated the bottled water. We enjoyed the cook-to-order breakfast and overall friendliness of the property. The view of the bridge and stream was outstanding. "

"Parking spaces very tight. Staff extremely pleasant and helpful. Food superb and plenty of it (although a bit pricey). Room lacking fridge and windows painted shut except one the kept closing when opened. Bed comfy. Bathroom well apppointed although basin was very low. Had to stoop to use it. Hotel well maintained and was very good."

"I can't speak too highly of this hotel. The staff couldn't do too much for us, they were courteous and polite at all times. The quality and choice of food was second to none, for the lake District, it was extremely competitively priced....we will be back, soon, for another break. "
