"We had a great stay at the Balsam Inn! Everyone put their hearts into giving folks a great experience. My husband says the dinner was the finest he ever had, and I appreciated all the little things that made our travel easier (ice for coolers, a shared frig, absolutely lovely and plentiful bedding). We would definitely stay there again!"

"This bed and breakfast excelled beyond all expectations! The property is exceptionally beautiful with many historic features scarcely seen except in museums of great old houses. Our host couldn't have been more wonderful and he helped us out after a long ride on the Erie Canal Trail. The amenities were excellent. I would go to Fort Plain just to stay there again. "The motel was very clean ...but a bit small however its a good rate for a night or 2 ..manager is so nice and informative about the area. The best part is its so close..walking distance to Fonda speedway..and close the Glen Ridge motorsports park. Since we were racing our car and going to watch races too...it was an awesome place to stay. Def may stay again there!"

"This is a low-end motel. There is incessant traffic noise from the highway. The only nearby eating establishment is Star Cafe, a typical greasy spoon with minimal fare. The only saving graces are the adjacent laundromat and the price. There is also a minimart by the gas station for survival needs. "
