"Very eclectic hotel. Interiors not to my liking, certainly not a cosy stay. Negative was shower. Water constantly went hot & cold. Rooms so dark virtually impossible to see anything."

"Had a large contemporary room and it was very spacious and well equipped. Bed was very comfy. Varied choice for breakfast and good quality ingredients. Staff were very friendly and welcoming"

"Check-in was smooth and friendly, and we were shown the hot drink facilities on arrival. Our room was clean, well maintained and comfortable. We appreciated being close to the food hall and the duck pond."

"A nice stay, with a very good breakfast. A few maintenance issues in the bedroom which needed addressing with a paint brush, and some cleaning issues, which were loose cotton threads from the sheets scattered everywhere. Simple stuff to do to get 5 stars, and to ensure standards are as they should be."

"What a friendly bunch they are at The Old Bell. Clear the new owners and motivated to make this a great spot for all. A truly warm welcome and great chat with the staff; all keen to learn and do things the right way. They really are a credit to the management. Rooms still need a little work, mattress on the bed was not great at all, but everywhere clean and tidy. Would happily stay again when in the area for work."

"Lovely place.I got there around midday but the host arranged an early check in.Clean room ,good food and got charged only £10 for charging my car."

"Seemed clean enough but was a bit of a dive. Noisy with fire doors banging. Parking to check in was difficult until got access to the parking thru the barrier, probably limited parking if you arrive late."

"Main property did have a roof due to major building works. Room was like an oven, no fan and windows only opened a small bit. Furniture was very cheap and the bed was awfully uncomfortable. No staff to help me check out at 7 am either."
