"Nice central location. Hôtel is a stately structure and is in places looking a little tired. A great choice of food for breakfast but you may find quite suitable options for less cost in the close neighbourhood. Staff are very helpful and friendly. I would be happy to stay here again."

"Lovely old coaching inn in excellent location. Room was large and comfortable but why only one chair for a double room. Lift was useful but some stairs inevitable as it’s a really old building. Car park an excellent bonus. Breakfast choice okay but none of the cereals were sugar free There appeared to be an atmosphere amongst the staff, maybe a result of the recent new managerial change"

"The room was basically dirty & scruffy. Linen & towels ok but the floor needed vacuuming & bathroom floor around skirting looked like had never been cleaned. Staff seemed stretched & too busy, most of the dinner menu was sold out & my partners poached eggs on toast resembled hard boiled eggs on toast as overdone. The pub is in a great location & my overall stay was not awful but should have been better. The room was only £65 so wasn't expecting the Ritz but expected a clean room without flaking...

"Room was clean, lift didn’t get swept in the 5 nights I was there and had a lot of dried mud in it. I extended by a couple of nights because my friends were still there and reception man wasn’t very helpful. Had to do it online, even though I would have had an alumni discount if I did it at the desk. The map is entirely unhelpful for the parking if you don’t know your way around campus.
