"Our room was near the pools and lagoon which meant easy access. There were lots of free activities offered, some of which were in the large outdoor pool if you wanted to join in. The staff were very friendly, helpful and seemed to be happy to be working at the Marriott no matter what they were doing...and had beautiful singing voices which we often heard if a celebration was held or a person was leaving. The breakfast offered a large, varied selection of food for all nationalities to choose...

"The Fiji Hilton is at a great location! It’s very close to Port Denarau and convenient for boat transfers. The rooms are right on the beach and right next the water. We chose a room with a kitchen and laundry, which was incredibly helpful! It’s not a great site to snorkel off the beach, but it’s a nice walking beach for finding shells! The pools were a great bonus for our 6yr old. Unfortunately, there was a lot of construction happening in the resort. It was kind of hard to relax at the pool...

"Staff weren’t overly friendly!! Often ignored for a period of time when wanting a table (staff busy talking to other staff and on the computer) Be prepared to pay top dollar for shuttles for excursions as a lot don’t offer a pick up from this resort being quite a wee way from everything. Bar staff were very helpful and bubbly, the most part a neat place to visit"

"Place, it's great if you are looking for a peaceful, relaxing time, and if you are ok with booking activities offered by the resort on the island. Otherwise, you will have to pay for transportation every time a boat is needed, and you will have to coordinate with other boats and jump from one to the other in the water, which could be fun, scary, or impossible for others. "Only good for overnight stays as opposite the airport. But more expensive than other hotels past the airport. Good pool but lacking seating. Gets taken quite fast. Restaurant service was painfully slow. Got my food after an hour wait. Not very energy efficient as all rooms have aircon going with the louvers windows open next to the front door. "Awesome, friendly and accommodating staff. Great affordable food and drinks with a great selection of both. Good breakfast selection (continental and off the menu cooked breakfast). Lovely, well kept, established gardens with a great pool and surrounding area. A very authentic Fijian experience and would highly recommend if that's what you're after. "Really liked the relaxed atmosphere right on the beach. Staff were Fijian friendly with wide smiles - Bula every time ! Need a better bar tab system when in a group and a better swimming pool but other than that an affordable and central location. Will be back."
