"upon arrival we was told we would have to pay to use the pool facilities. we ordered room service and was told we would have to wait 45 mins for it to arrive having us go down to reception as the phone in room was not working. The fire alarm went off at 23:50 waking us up which left is with a poor night's sleep. And there was no parking at the property or secure carpark nearby which resulted in us paying an extra £32 for overnight parking"

"Extreme safety concerns! Not just the all the rooms have NO AC but also NO fans in the bathroom or the room. I had a room on the 10th floor and windows obviously can’t be opened. But how come the Hotel is still accepting guests if there’s NO ventilation!! The fans (air circulation!) is NOT working. For the whole entire stay my room wasn’t cleaned once."

"Pros: buffet breakfast (since is a little walk to other restaurants/cafes), very helpful and kind staff, good location close to bay, hot water with good pressure, price, A/C Cons: dated rooms, bathroom grout badly needs cleaning, dirty drinking glasses in room I'd probably stay there again if on a tight budget. It does look like a lot of construction is starting in that area though so check for noise and traffic."

"As soon as I checked in, friendly lovely staff members let me check in a bit early which helped as I had heavy suitcase and I got my room straight. They gave me recommendations for food nearby too which was really helpful as I wasn’t sure what was good local foods. If you want a place to stay in Barry this is it for sure. And one other positive right next to the Barry station within good walking distance."

"Myself and my partner were really impressed by the beautiful decor at Lanelay Hall the hotel and our room was very spacious - the biggest room I’ve ever had whilst staying at a hotel. The happy birthday treats and petals were a really kind lovely touch too. The location was disappointing as we pulled up to the hotel gates in a housing estate (our expectation was a countryside hotel). "Lovely well maintained modern rooms with sparkling bathroom and plenty of hot water for great shower. Nice to see eco facilities. Breakfast and dinner were superb and akin to gastro pub quality and generously portioned. We wouldn’t hesitate to return next time we visit family in the area. Staff were friendly and accommodating at all times."

"Attention! There was NO hot water during the whole of our stay! When I notified the hotel via a WhatsApp text, they told me that the boiler had broken down and they were going to fix it. When I spoke to the person at Reception, he said that a technician was going to come in the morning, but there was still no hot water. When I asked for compensation, I was told that they would get back to me, but they never did! Instead I kept on getting emails to rate my stay and/or to contact Costumer Service....

"I liked the bathroom. No ramps in front of hotel for luggage or accessibility for strollers or wheelchairs.Main entrance revolving door broken. Reception desk lacked privacy. No water in room or in reception area for weary travelers. Was not directed to carts for luggage."

"Breakfast was amazing!! Totally worth it. The beautiful room in which it is located is a must see. I would recommend staying at this hotel for this reason alone. Room has a lovely soaker tub. So necessary to soak away the pains of travel."
