Ryokan in Funai District

"This was my first time staying at a ryokan. I had a wonderful time. The view was simply amazing. The dinner and breakfast meals were 10 out of 10 for presentation and taste. The baths were equally refreshing. The only thing I could critique is the bed was a little minimal compared to western beds I'm used to. I still got a great nights rest and would come back in a heartbeat."

"Wonderful location and environment, good food and staff"

"Delicious breakfast & meals (I recommend the Sukiyaki!), a beautifully maintained grounds in a picturesque location, with the friendliest staff - we LOVED our time here and highly recommend it!"

"This hotel was better than expected and the staff was outstanding."

"That’s a Ryokan with all the associated Japanese experience. The only somewhat negative is location - not close to any local dining or public transportation (a free shuttle in the morning helps though)."

"Wonderful experience. We experienced a lovely tea ceremony. The hostess was very familiar with the area. Would recommend this place to anyone who wants an authentic Kyoto experience"

"If you looking for a quiet family oriented place for 1-2 nights outside Kyoto with a Ryokan and privacy. This is the place. Bring lots of games and books, nice walks along the river. It is not a large hotel and it is not easy to get to. But the right circumstances make this a perfect experience. "

"located at Arashiyama - nice place"
