Their website states that breakfast is made to order and I recall seeing it on the expedia page but then was notified a day before about where to go for food instead. "Basic room, a little dated but all we needed was supplied for one night in York at a family wedding We had 4 in a room so space was tight but knew it would be! Not sure we could have done it for a week! So convenient as right In heart of the city"

"This was the worst experience I have ever had with an Expedia property. The hotel was ranked a 4 star, and is at best a 2 start. It was filthy, had no elevator or air conditioning. The rooms were dismal and there was no way to raise the window to let in air to address the stifling heat. But mostly it was dirty and worn. The carpet and curtains were disgusting. We wanted to leave our luggage the next day because we had a train at 5pm, but we were told the hotel does not accommodate tourists...

"The room was small but clean, had a comfortable bed and nice bathroom. The guest kitchen and sitting area was a great bonus and had everything you needed to cook a meal. Nour was the most friendly and helpful host. He arranged a parking permit for £5 pound a day. Easy walking distance to town centre."

"Hocus Pocus is a really fun, quirky themed place to stay. We were able to leave our bags prior to check in and the cleaning crew was super helpful with that. We really liked the central location with shopping and food around The Shambles. Room was clean and the fan was helpful when it felt a little stuffy. Overall, we had a great one night stay."

"The breakfast was more than could be expected! Pots of coffee, cereals, pastries, yogurt, jams and jellies and this was before the main menu. I had traditional English breakfast which was fabulous. Easy street parking clean comfortable rooms, why stay anywhere else when visiting York?!!!"
