"The place is older and hasn't seen the best of maintenance in recent years it seems. The door to the bathroom in our room did not close due to misalignment. The shower stall had mold in the corners. The room itself smelled and felt damp. Nobody on site to complain to so we lived with it. Considering our experience and what was paid we would not come back unless other options were booked up. Yes the place is cheaper than a lot in the area however it was still overpriced in our eyes."

"Cosy, clean and quiet. Spent a lovely night at Brooks' with a small fountain gently bubbling outside my window, in a well-kept and extremely comfortable room. The bathroom was clean and tidy too. "We road tripped around Scotland for 10 days and this was by far the worst stay. The cleaner had done there best and the beds where clean with sheets but that’s it. The shower had black mold, the carpet was heavily stained and had a very specific odour, everything was very dated and most items where broken or in need or repair inducing the floor that had soft spots. "Beautiful historic mansion. We walked thru nearby parks to the riverfront for lunch. The outdoor restaurant at Orange Grove was very pleasant for an evening dinner and happy hour. The admiral lounge is very comfortable while waiting for pickup to go to the airport or cruise ships."

"My stay at the Washington was OK. The room that I stayed in was comfortable but could really do with some urgent TLC...especially the bathroom. The hotel's location is very good - well within walking distance to the town centre. It also has a small onsite carpark that is allocated on a first come first served basis, at a cost of £12 per night - very handy indeed.
