"This is a fantastic luxury hotel in the heart of Venice, close to all the major attractions yet quiet and exclusive. The room was spacious and well equipped, and the service was outstanding. Our room had a balcony that had a wonderful view of Venice. The staff goes out of their way to make us feel welcomed and comfortable. This is a very special hotel--our stay was unforgettable. LOCATION
It is within walking distance to the Grand Canal; to the Venezia Sta Lucia train station; to Piazzale Roma where the water bus stations are and where there’s a couple grocery stores; to a few restaurants and bars; to the bus terminal so we didn’t have to cross huge bridges with our luggages when we arrived and left, etc. Just perfect...

"La Calcina is the perfect place to stay in Venice. The location is perfect, you can walk to the main places of interest. Everywhere else is accessible from the water bus stop nearby.
Our room was amazing, with fabulous views. The only negative was the variable temperature of the shower.
Samuel, Lorella and all the staff at the front desk were helpful and friendly.
All the waiting staff were also very friendly and welcoming."

"It's a small hotel, with only five rooms. It's in an interesting brick building. The proprietor, Daria, was really friendly and helpful. Our room looked like it was recently renovated. The main room was quite large and the bathroom was huge. The hotel is a five-minute walk from San Basilio vaporetto stop. We really like this hotel and would certainly recommend it."
