"Chose the Hampton Inn Poway as an extra night on my birthday trip knowing that this isn't a fancy resort by any means but Hampton Inn always comes with great stays and calm environments. The stay started out ok with the gentleman at the front being very helpful and even offering an "upgrade". We got to the room to notice a musty smell from the AC being off. "Room was clean and spacious but smells like you stepped into a historical archive. The room balcony door was open upon arrival and A/C wasn't turned on anywhere on the property so it was super hot. The A/C unit worked well to cool the room down after several hours. Complimentary snacks are provided in the room, which was a nice touch. "The Springhill Suites in Escondido were great. The room was quite large and clean. The hotel is located near many places to eat that are walkable. Definiteley recommend if you are in Escondido"

Also right outside the accessible room was the only ice machine for the whole facility and it is not secured at night. People were filling large coolers at all times during the night.
