Was very manipulative for profitable reasons and was a liar about available rooms. He took advantage of the fact that they were people that needed rooms. "We like our stay at Best Western Escondido. It has a good location, close to the freeway and close to Vista and Carlsbad. The buffet breakfast is also great. Our room is clean and we are close to the vending machine and ice too. Only thing is that you have to request for lotion in the front desk."

"Avoid this property at all costs. From the moment we arrived, it was obvious the property was poorly maintained and cleanliness was not a priority. The most alarming issue was safety. A rattlesnake was coiled on the deck directly outside our cabin door, forcing us to deal with it ourselves before we could safely enter the cabin. We also found black widow spiders around the cabin. Yes, these animals are native to California, but guests should never have to worry about venomous snakes and spiders...

"Plus: Front-desk staff was very helpful for a phone call prior to arrival, check in, etc. Breakfast amenities, waffles, coffee and area were nice. Our room was clean (most important) & quiet; wasn't picking up outside noise even facing Highway 78 and with a pool just below our window with activity past 10 pm. Minus: Only minor things. Dark-out shades would be helpful. Room A/C did not seem to cool the room very well. Parking was a bit scarce but manageable. We would recommend and stay here...
