"We usually stay at drury properties no matter where we go, Fairview heights even though a newer one was probably the worst. The rooms were clean but the pool and hot tub were absolutely disgusting there were hair, skin pieces, bandaids, and the overwhelming smell of urine. You could tell it had not been cleaned in a long time. And the hot tub jets did not work at all it was stagnant people soup. The staff seemed to not care about anything at all. "Hotel was in a great location and clean. Service was friendly and took care of any needs we had. Kids enjoyed the pool and the breakfast was pretty good too. Would stay here again. "

"Pool was basically down. The heater was broken. You could swim at your own risk…but waaay too cold to actually swim. No drain stopper in the tub, so had to use a hand towel. Looks a lot better online than in person. Not a terrible experience, but not the best either. 3/5 overall for sure. "

"Very rundown and broken. We opened the door to our room and instantly noticed hundreds of bugs dead on the carpet. We layed our sleeping children down on one of the beds and as we pulled the sheets back we found 4-5 live giant beetle type bugs. It was the most disgusting thing. There was hair all over the bathroom. We grabbed our children and left. "

"The initial staff I talked to the guy was fine. Most of the staff were OK except for the lady that I talked to in the end. The manager wasn’t there when I checked out in the afternoon to complain about the mold in the bathroom.to get a refund."

"Everything’s great about the stay except for the really hard old bed and the pillows that needed to be replaced. They were so misshapen and not worth being on the bed at all. I did not get a good nights sleep either night I was there."

"The room wasn’t clean, the pillows had hair all over, the chair in the room had tape over a holes it had, and the toilet was dirty. The microwave and mini fridge were dirty, had possibly mold or rust on the fridge. It was super noisy the whole time, paper thin walls and door. At 4am there were people talking loudly in the hall and could hear everything they were saying. Was looking forward to the hotel breakfast, but it was cold and the food selection was awful. "

"This was my third stay at The Principal Hotel. The history of this property is unique and the rooms are amazing - essentially in brand-new condition and very tastefully designed and decorated. I've eaten at the adjoining restaurant, the Graphite, on one occasion. Amazing food! (When the Graphite is closed on Mondays, I eat at the Thai House restaurant within blocks of the hotel. Delicious and affordable meals!) The hotel is easy to get to and Columbia seems like a nice, safe town. I plan on...

"They put us in room 103. Room on first floor next to the elevator. Up until 2am - every person that checked in - pulled their luggage cart down the hall over hump into the elevator. The room smelled like smoke and the heat/air unit sounded like a chain saw starting- every time it turned on! Apparently- there was some type of sports team that checked in - sounded like elephants doing jumping jacks- above us! Our granddaughter had a dance competition- long day, 14 hours- and we got maybe 3 hours...
