"The property is ideally situated for walking. Great welcome, room ready and staff lovely. We raised an issue immediately about no cushions on the patio furniture. We were given four chair seat cushions but a couple of hours later the owner, Jason had been and purchased two long cushions. Whilst they didn’t fit the sofa we made do and appreciate the attempt to immediately correct something. The room was a little tired in places but in speaking with the owners, they are slowly making their way...

"Room very clean & tidy looks like a recent refurbish which was very well done , the only thing was the mattresses could do with renewing , which is the only negative thing to say about our stay was able to help ourselves to tea ,coffee etc when needed . Could not ask for better staff , nothing to much trouble for them to do , very good choice for breakfast , never went out hungry also very good menu all round with a good choice of drinks at the bar , will definitely stay again and would highly...

"This is a lovely farmhouse bed & breakfast, Janet (farmers wife) made tasty breakfasts with options to suit everyone's taste. We had fresh milk when we needed it for in room drinks and were able to get ice for evening drinks. One word of advise, this not a hotel so don't expect hotel services. Would I stay there again, yes most definately."

"Friendly staff. Excellent food offering. Good location. A shame about my shower control falling apart and an extractor unit that looked as though it had seen better days. In the heat, the air conditioning in the room was excellent and very welcome. It would have been nice if it had operated throughout the hotel. I will be happy to stay there again"

"Pros: bus stop nearby, easy to get to many tourist attractions even if located a little away from city center, grocery store around the corner, clean comfortable bed, fan provided. Short stay ok. Room has kettle, some free cookies, free coffee tea packets. Tub mat provided to prevent slips and falls. Room 33 is very quiet. Cons: No ac. No elevator. Even if only one floor of staircases, it is difficult with heavy luggage. Need to ask for shampoo. They give you hair dryer at desk reception. No...

"Very old hotel but not maintained. No air conditioning and stairs involved. No hair dryers and one little round soap. No water supplied even though a heat wave was occurring in Southampton. However close to cruise docks which was helpful."

"If you are travelling from Southampton Central Railway station, it is best to take a bus right at the train station and then walk 5 minutes to the hotel. About 10 minutes walk passing thru the park to many eating places."

"Great location for accessing town, cathedral and walking along river itchen. Pub food and drinks were delicious! Be aware the stairs to the rooms are quite narrow and steep to climb and rooms can get quite warm if the weather is cooperating and sun is out."
